Alice + Jim // Downtown Chicago Wedding with a View
Story time: my friendship with Alice spans over ten years. I met her when she was my sister’s RA in college at Otterbein University in Ohio, and stayed friends when they continued to room together, live together, spend holidays with each other, and generally become part of each other’s families. She joined the Peace Corps after college, and when she was done, she moved to Chicago to get her doctorate. While in Chicago, she met Jim, and I had the honor of finally meeting him and seeing what a wonderful relationship they have together when Alice asked me to photograph her wedding. It was the sweetest day, and I’ve never seen Chicago more beautiful - the downtown skyline, the Garfield Park Conservatory, Jim’s brewery (Aleman Brewery, if you’re in Chicago and need an amazing craft beer), and The Hive on Hubbard made for the most incredible venue. In her vows, Alice said that she’d lived all over the world, but being with Jim felt like home. We should all be so lucky to feel the same way about the person we love. To the Moorehouse family.
